Shopping for the Soul

Hi my name is Miss Fely and I am a shopaholic!

So just to let you know I take over my mother when it comes to shopping.  She loves to shop!  This is one of her famous sayings, "When you are sick just go shopping...you'll forget you're sick."  This is sooo true.

I've been sick for the last couple of days and have gone to work every single day.  Yes, I wish I could stay home but my job is too complicated.  Well, my nose has been a little runny and we ran out of Kleenex at work.  Okay so I said to myself, "I'll go to Target and get a box of tissue during my lunch break."

Lunch came around and I find myself at Target...in the makeup isle...in the jewelry isle...in the shoe isle...you get the point.

I pay, go to my car, take out some Peeps(Easter candy) from a bag and then it hits me!  "Sh*t, I forgot the box of tissue!"  I was mad for a bit but then I realized...during those 30-40 minutes that I was inside of Target shopping, not one minute did I remember I was sick.  It was like a little miracle, the world got a little better during that time.
This is part of what I actually ended up waking out with.

It is just funny how the body reacts when you are having fun or just happy about something.  At the end Mom is always right...shopping does make you feel better.

My cold kit at work.

The Closet Series...Pt. 5 Purse Collection

I love PURSES!  I am obsessed with purses!  I dream of purses!

Ever since I was a little girl I would carry my little purse with me everywhere.  Back then I would store my money and toys but now I carry things just because "I might need them."  which I never ever do...ha.  My purse weighs I would approximate around 10 pounds with all that I carry in there. (I'll do another blog on what's in my purse later).  I love my purse collection...every bag is special to me.

As mentioned before on my other blogs I love to see what I have(it is just so much easier to pick out stuff).  When I was looking at ways to organize my collection, I was first thinking on having cube organizers against the wall.

Yes this would look organized but it does take up a lot of space.  So I decided to ask my father in-law who is amazing with creating steal items, to create a purse rack for me.  I kinda sketched what I had in mind and he did the rest.

This is what he created for me.  Without the all the purses it looks like a tree with bare branches(I call it my purse tree).  He made it so those branches move around so if I need to place in a corner I just move all the branches to the front(makes it so versatile).

Each branch has hooks to place purses.

...and a heart to top it all off!

If you have the room I would definitely go with something like this.  I know this purse tree was specially designed for me but there are similar ones you can purchase from Amazon all ready made.

Amazon.com $168.49

I love my purse tree and once again thanks to my father in-law who took his time to create this wonderful piece of art for me.

Instead of showing you my favorite item out of my collection I want to show you my dream purse that one day will be mine:

Sully MM Louis Vuitton only $1,430.00 :(
I Love this one because of the zipper. Purses with zippers make me feel safe.
Delightful Monogram MM
This is my second choice just because it's a few hundred dollars cheaper without the zipper,
only $1,050.00 :(
I do love the Legendary Monogram better to the Ebene canvas.

I feel like this purse can be one of those items that can be passed down from generations and will never go out of style.

For now I am just a simple girl without a Louis...

The Closet Series...Pt. 4 Closet Rack

Whenever I am going out to hang out with my husband or friends and look into my closet I find...nada to wear.  It's a funny way of thinking considering my size closet. (See my Closet Series Pt.2)

I bought this clothes rack from Target for around $10.99 and this is where I place all my new items I purchase.  It reminds me of what I have purchased because before I would just hang my new clothes with my old clothes and forget about them.  Now I have no excuse anymore as to "I have nothing to wear!" because I just look here and have a new outfit for whatever comes my way.
I honestly would not recommend to get this particular rack because the material is kinda cheap and it tends to tip over if you put too much on it.  I would go for a more sturdy one even if you end up paying just a little more.
Favorite new item:
It was love at first sight with this peplum dress from Forever21.  It fits perfect!  Only $24.80!

The Closet Series...Pt. 2 Clothes Collection

“I like my money right where I can see it... hanging in my closet.” -Carrie Bradshaw

I love clothes and I love the open view I have.  As you can tell I like to color coordinate my clothes...it just makes it so much easier when I am picking out my outfit in the morning.  Pet peeve I have and admit to is all hangers must match.  I hate having mismatching hangers.  Hangers are from Home Depot and I believe they were 24 for $3.99.
Baskets from Dollar Tree $1.00 each
Fabric Drawers from Target $5.99-$6.99

On the top shelf I have baskets from the dollar store.  I have miscellaneous items that I don't really need but do not want to throw away just yet.  The bottom shelf (between my clothes) I have bigger fabric drawers that I purchased from Target and run around $5.99-$6.99ish each.  This is were I store things like my socks, hats, bathing suits, tights and other day to day necessities.
Brackets are screwed into the wall.
Brackets are then screwed into the shelf.

To hang my clothes my husband decided to use items from the brand "Closetmaid"(can be found at Home Depot).  He purchased closet rod support brackets, rods, and some shelves.  With that he was able to build this double clothes rack.  If you have an empty wall in your room this is something that you can do to make more space in your closet.
Fun part...my favorite clothing items:
I love this dress!  I've used this dress so many times.  It is from the Kardashian line at Bebe.  I believe I purchased it on sale for only $89.99.  I've dressed it up for Vegas and dressed it down for a wedding.  It has been a very good investment in my closet.

This blazer/jacket was actually a hand me down from my sister.  I love the design!  This is another item that I have dressed up to go out with my friends and have worn to work.  Love it!
If you have any questions feel free to leave a message!

Welcome Fashionistas!

Welcome to Felys Collections, where you will get the insight of  "A Personal Style of a Simple Girl in a Glam World."  Hope you enjoy reading and following my blogs!

Hi...you can call me Miss Fely!

A little about myself:  I am officially a shopaholic!  Yikes!  I love everything about fashion and enjoy working in this exiting field.

Growing up I must have gone through so many career changes. I went from being a doctor, alien investigator, vet, and most any other career you can think of. At the end of my senior year of high school I decided I was going to be a teacher and on the side have my little fashion boutique (realistic?). Well, I loved to dream big but that didn’t quite happen. So I finished two years at a community college and at that point I had to come back to reality and make the decision: go to fashion school or a regular 4-year school and then get my teaching credential. At the end I gave up on the dream of becoming a fashion icon and became a teacher instead(not complaining...I love kids).

Due to the economy, I have yet to find a teaching job! Yikes! So I though hey, why give up on my dream of fashion?

So here I am now on this adventure and as I get older, I realize that anything is possible; it just takes A LOT of time, hard work, and sacrifice.

Let the fashion runway show begin!
