The Closet Series...Pt. 6 Perfume Collection

Perfume to me is like a signature you add at the end.  This signature makes you different, unique, and sometimes standout from the crowd.  As we all know, the same perfume smells different on every person.  Not every perfume will flatter your personal scent...you must search for the perfect one.

My personal collection.

Personally I have trouble finding perfumes that I can wear.  Why?  I have this allergic reaction to certain perfumes if they are too strong.  My nasal passage becomes clogged and I get a really bad migraine.

Samples

Therefore, I can't just go to the department store and pick out a random perfume.  This is what I do:  I go to the department stores and ask the sales person for samples of the ones I am liking.  I wear them the whole day to be able to see if I can withstand having the perfume on the whole day.  If they pass the test then I buy them.

There are those few times where I love the bottle and I just buy it or I get the perfume as a gift.   In these situations I have to get accustomed to the scent before I can actually wear them.

Favorite perfume at the moment:

Pink Sugar...Literally smells like Cotton Candy.

Classic Favorites: Vera Wang Princess & Ralph Lauren Romance

The Closet Series...Pt. 5 Purse Collection

I love PURSES!  I am obsessed with purses!  I dream of purses!

Ever since I was a little girl I would carry my little purse with me everywhere.  Back then I would store my money and toys but now I carry things just because "I might need them."  which I never ever do...ha.  My purse weighs I would approximate around 10 pounds with all that I carry in there. (I'll do another blog on what's in my purse later).  I love my purse collection...every bag is special to me.

As mentioned before on my other blogs I love to see what I have(it is just so much easier to pick out stuff).  When I was looking at ways to organize my collection, I was first thinking on having cube organizers against the wall.

Yes this would look organized but it does take up a lot of space.  So I decided to ask my father in-law who is amazing with creating steal items, to create a purse rack for me.  I kinda sketched what I had in mind and he did the rest.

This is what he created for me.  Without the all the purses it looks like a tree with bare branches(I call it my purse tree).  He made it so those branches move around so if I need to place in a corner I just move all the branches to the front(makes it so versatile).

Each branch has hooks to place purses.

...and a heart to top it all off!

If you have the room I would definitely go with something like this.  I know this purse tree was specially designed for me but there are similar ones you can purchase from Amazon all ready made.

Amazon.com $168.49

I love my purse tree and once again thanks to my father in-law who took his time to create this wonderful piece of art for me.

Instead of showing you my favorite item out of my collection I want to show you my dream purse that one day will be mine:

Sully MM Louis Vuitton only $1,430.00 :(
I Love this one because of the zipper. Purses with zippers make me feel safe.
Delightful Monogram MM
This is my second choice just because it's a few hundred dollars cheaper without the zipper,
only $1,050.00 :(
I do love the Legendary Monogram better to the Ebene canvas.

I feel like this purse can be one of those items that can be passed down from generations and will never go out of style.

For now I am just a simple girl without a Louis...

The Closet Series...Pt. 4 Closet Rack

Whenever I am going out to hang out with my husband or friends and look into my closet I find...nada to wear.  It's a funny way of thinking considering my size closet. (See my Closet Series Pt.2)

I bought this clothes rack from Target for around $10.99 and this is where I place all my new items I purchase.  It reminds me of what I have purchased because before I would just hang my new clothes with my old clothes and forget about them.  Now I have no excuse anymore as to "I have nothing to wear!" because I just look here and have a new outfit for whatever comes my way.
I honestly would not recommend to get this particular rack because the material is kinda cheap and it tends to tip over if you put too much on it.  I would go for a more sturdy one even if you end up paying just a little more.
Favorite new item:
It was love at first sight with this peplum dress from Forever21.  It fits perfect!  Only $24.80!

The Closet Series...Pt. 3 Nail Polish Collection

Taking glitter off your nails is so hard but so fun to wear.

Nail polishes are like shoes...you can never have too many.  I have had a couple of people tell me my nail polish obsession is a bit much but in all honesty I don't.  As I am attempting to do designs/art on my nails I still find colors that I am missing from my collection.
I was going to buy those acrylic nail polish racks for my wall but I don't think one rack would fit all my polishes so I actually had this book shelf (from Target) from back in the day when I was in college.  I purchased some baskets from the dollar section at Target and used those to store my polishes.

Once again I like color coordinating my things.  Each basket holds a color family;  keep all my glitter nail art polishes in one basket, pinks in another and so on.

For nail polish remover I use this acetone from my local nail supply store which is the same product used when going to do your nails at the salon.  I also love their cuticle oil and lotion...the best for manicures.

In the little red suit case (I believe it was a free gift from a makeup purchase from Estee Lauder) I keep all my nail care supplies: files, cotton, art supplies, and other things necessary for a manicure.

On the top of the shelf I just keep a few knick-nacks and my 3 drawer that keeps all my receipts.

My favorite polishes from my collection (couldn't just pick one)...

The hot pink is called Fancy Fuchsia from Orly and the darker color is Prey Tell from China Glaze.

The Closet Series...Pt. 2 Clothes Collection

“I like my money right where I can see it... hanging in my closet.” -Carrie Bradshaw

I love clothes and I love the open view I have.  As you can tell I like to color coordinate my clothes...it just makes it so much easier when I am picking out my outfit in the morning.  Pet peeve I have and admit to is all hangers must match.  I hate having mismatching hangers.  Hangers are from Home Depot and I believe they were 24 for $3.99.
Baskets from Dollar Tree $1.00 each
Fabric Drawers from Target $5.99-$6.99

On the top shelf I have baskets from the dollar store.  I have miscellaneous items that I don't really need but do not want to throw away just yet.  The bottom shelf (between my clothes) I have bigger fabric drawers that I purchased from Target and run around $5.99-$6.99ish each.  This is were I store things like my socks, hats, bathing suits, tights and other day to day necessities.
Brackets are screwed into the wall.
Brackets are then screwed into the shelf.

To hang my clothes my husband decided to use items from the brand "Closetmaid"(can be found at Home Depot).  He purchased closet rod support brackets, rods, and some shelves.  With that he was able to build this double clothes rack.  If you have an empty wall in your room this is something that you can do to make more space in your closet.
Fun part...my favorite clothing items:
I love this dress!  I've used this dress so many times.  It is from the Kardashian line at Bebe.  I believe I purchased it on sale for only $89.99.  I've dressed it up for Vegas and dressed it down for a wedding.  It has been a very good investment in my closet.

This blazer/jacket was actually a hand me down from my sister.  I love the design!  This is another item that I have dressed up to go out with my friends and have worn to work.  Love it!
If you have any questions feel free to leave a message!

The Closet Series...Part 1

Mr. Big: Would you want to get married?
Carrie Bradshaw: Well, I didn't, didn't think that was an option.
Mr. Big: What if it was an option?
Carrie Bradshaw: Why? What? Do you want to get married?
Mr. Big: I wouldn't mind being married to you. Would you mind being married to me?
Carrie Bradshaw: No, no, not, not if that's what you wanted. I mean, is, is that what you want?
Mr. Big: I want you. So, ok.
Carrie Bradshaw: So really, we're, we're getting married?
Mr. Big: We're getting married. Should we get you a diamond?
Carrie Bradshaw: No. No. Just get me a really big closet.
-Quote from "Sex and the City the Movie"

I think Carrie read my mind when she said that last line.  The "really big closet" is every girls dream.  I compare the really big closet to the very big purse...the bigger it is the more you carry.  A closet is just the same...

My husband (fiance back in the day & my very own Mr. Big) made my dream come true. He made one of the rooms in our house into a walk-in closet/dressing room for...me! Never in a million years did I think I was actually going to have my very own "really big closet".

I often get request from family and friends for pictures of my closet so, I am going to do a small series of blogs that will show my husband's work use to build this closet, my organizing techniques for my items, and some of my favorite items.

NOTE:  This is not intended to brag or show off what I own, have or don't have.  For those who know me well know that I am not like that at all.  I feel blessed and grateful for what I do have and it all comes with a lot of hard work and my own money.  This is intended only to give you ideas for your own closet big or small and for those who have requested to see pictures.

Xoxo,

Miss Fely <3
