Issues...Body Image

Check out Rachel Talbott's video.  She totally sums up how I feel.  I love this girl!  Follow her at RachelTalbott or Checkinthemirror on Youtube.

Outfit from Forever 21

Just like Rachel, growing up I was made fun of for being skinny(or thin, as I prefer to call it) and still today I still get comments once in a while.  It wasn't fun growing up and having my own friends make comments about how skinny I was or how big my nose is(mostly junior high).  I now realize that  those people who made fun of me and still do at times, are the ones with issues themselves.

What I have learned as a grown-up is not to let what other people say about you, get in the way of you being happy.  You will never ever please everyone so don't worry about it as long as you are happy with yourself.

For a long time I didn't wear short-shorts because of "my chicken or flamingo legs" as some people call them but you know what, I love my chicken legs.  I now wear what I want no matter if people think I am a little crazy.  This is me and if people can't accept it, then they don't matter to me.

Now, I thank God that he made me this way.  I am 5'4" & my weight for years has always been between 100-105 lbs.  I am able to eat what I want, when I want and not have to worry about gaining a pound.  It's like a blessing now that I am a grown woman.  I try not to eat too much greasy food but sometimes I just cant help it when I am out on the run.  For dinner I generally cook pretty healthy because my husband is not as lucky as I am...sorry loves!

I admire this girls body @makeupbycamila.  She is petite just like me...she is too cute!

As for my nose, I'm starting to accept that this is what I was given and I just have to work with it.  I am not against plastic surgery but I am a little scared to change my nose because I don't want to look like anyone else; I love the rest of me.  For now all I can do is work on my confidence and get out there for the world to see...

Drew Barrymore Flower Beauty Review

"My whole life, I've wanted to feel comfortable in my skin.  It's the most liberating thing in the world."-Drew

Today I was actually exited to come home and write this review. I am a big fan of Drew Barrymore and I was super exited to try out her beauty line Flower, especially knowing that it is not tested on animals...yay Drew!

A few weeks ago I picked out some of her items and I was impressed with most but not so much with others.

First up is the Flower Tinted Moisturizer:  This is a very sheer tint & when I say sheer, I mean sheer.  For that reason it feels very light on your skin but it does make your face feel moisturized.

Tinted Moisturizer
Shade TM5
Powder Foundation: I think this was my favorite product of my collection.  This powder foundation has enough coverage, and not only was able to hide some minor flaws on my face but it gave me a very soft, gentle look. (applied over tinted moisturizer)
Eeeks...sorry for the lighting.

Secret Service Cover-Up-Conceals and Covers: This concealear is great as a highlight.  Got this a shade lighter than my skin and it really gave me a good highlight under my eyes.  I would not use this to hide any blemishes, it is way too sheer for my taste.
Shade CU3

Eyeshadow Quad in Foxy Browns:  These shadows are so silky and blendable.  All the colors are so pigmented and they are really the color that you see in the quad. You will get some fallout, so make sure you tap your brush before applying.  Overall, great color payoff!

Blush/Bronzer Duo in Gloriously Golden BD2:  I love both of these colors.  These two colors are very soft and combined give you a very natural look.

Luxury Lip Color in Sweet Peony:  Loved this color!  Great color payoff.

Shine on Lip Gloss:  I know this lip gloss is not advertised as a lip plumper but for some reason when I applied it on top of the lipstick, I felt like it made my lips look a little bigger.  It really has a nice shine but you don't get much color to it.
Shade LG2

Left: on top of the lipstick.  Right: by itself
Lash Knockout Volumizing Mascara:  This mascara actually separated my lashes out.  I added on several layers but didn't get the volume I was expecting.
Shade: VM2 Black

The finished look...
Very Natural Look.

This Flower makeup line is great for an everyday natural look.

Olay Total Effects 7 In One Tone Correcting Moisturizer First Impression

Lets face it...getting old is something we all try to prevent and avoid.  Why can't we just stay young forever???
The best thing we can do is try to prevent lines and wrinkles through plastic surgery, creams, botox, etc.

So, I have always been intrigued when it comes down to trying out products that claim that to fight the signs of aging.  Why?  Ummmmm....why not, if I can prevent myself from looking old, I am going to try it.

I just want to share a short first impression review on the Olay Total Effects 7 in One Tone Correcting moisturizer with sunscreen.  This is a CC Cream = Color + Correction Cream.

It claims fight these 7 things:
1.Fine lines and wrinkles
2. Uneven Tone
3. Age spots
4. Gentle Exfoliation
5. Dryness
6. Moisture barrier
7. Luminosity

I have been trying this product for a little over a week and I am going to be completely honest with all of you...my face did not look good the first day for some reason.  It was supper shinny all day and my face felt very oily but on the second day my face felt like it was back to normal.  I don't know if my face was just adapting to the product since my face is generally oily/combination skin or if was the SPF 15.

Right side: All these pictures are all bare face, so you can see my imperfections.
Left side:Taken first day before I started using the product.

The main reason I purchased this product was because I am starting to notice a couple of age spots(might be sun spots?) and some uneven tones on my face.  This product does have a sheer tint but does not cover any blemishes whatsoever.  I did notice my face had more of a glow(good glow, not oily glow) & the uneven tones where less noticeable.   That was definitely a plus.

Right side: This was taken 1 week after.
Left Side

It is definitely a good product for everyone who is in need of a little correction but if you have oily skin be aware that your face might be a little shinier than usual but the benefits are a plus.

Tutorial: Simple Cute Inspiration Boards!!!

Inspiration Wall Boards!

We all have things, people, or pictures that inspire us.  I feel that if you look at whatever inspires you and focus on it, you can achieve your goals or inspirations.  So...this weekend I decided to make these cute inspiration boards to hang in my closet.    Follow the steps below to create your own inspiration boards.

This is what you will need:
-Ribbon
-Cork Tiles  (Purchased at Walmart)- came in a set of four
-Wood Glue
-Picture Hanging Strips
-Self Adhesive Pearls, diamonds, anything cute or girly
-Scissors
-Push Pins

Step 1:
Take two of your cork tile boards and you are going to add some wood glue to one tile.  Then layer the second tile on top and press on it and hold it down for about 2-3 minutes.  I layered two boards because I don't want to damage my wall with the push pins(makes it thick enough).  Clean the excess glue off.

Step 2:
Pick some ribbon of your choice and cute into strips, this will depend on how wide your cork tiles are.  Make sure you leave about two inches extra on each side.

Step 3:
These particular cork tiles that I purchased came with some adhesive squares. Glue one square to each corner of the ribbon.  Place your ribbon where you would like and glue the adhesive square to the back of the tile board.  Place as many ribbons as you like.

Step 4:
Decorate!  I purchased some scrapbooking items from an art supply store to use as my decorations.  The letters are made of cardboard and did not have any adhesive to the back so I used the same adhesive squares I used for the step above.  The pearls and diamonds where self-adhesive so there was no need for any type of glue.

Cute the adhesive squares to size

You can spell what ever you want your board to say.

Step 5:
Take your picture hanging strips and place on the back of the boards.  I recommend placing one set on each of the four corners for more security.
These will not damage your wall

Clasp two together.

Take on set and place on all four corners.  DO NOT take of the other protective strip just yet.

Step 6:
Hang on your wall!

Remove the back part of each strip.

This is how it should look if you take it off the wall.
These will remain on the wall

My final creations!

Love to cut out items out of magazines that I like or inspire me.

Have fun!  Don't forget to tag me @Missfely on Instagram so I can see your creations!
